Pare si Kampung Ingris di Kediri

Go to Pare (a not-so-long-stay in Pare part 1) , small town in East Java

After I making a big deal in my life (read: resign from my previous job) and I went back to my home town to celebrate feast day of Idul Fitri. Finished from euphoria of Idul fitri, every body had back to their activities and I leaved alone and tried to prepare about my plan in the  future. I didn’t know where I get this idea, I thought and considered about Pare City in East Java,  where this place is famous with “kampong Inggris”. So many students and also common people study or improve their English there. I wonder to get there.
Actually I have some purposes to visit Pare, firstly is  to improve my English while I seek for new job, and the second is for adventure, I had a dream about staying in a place where I never visited before and I don’t know anyone there, or I love to say that really in the middle of nowhere.
Okay I  just need 2 weeks to make this decision, and I tell to my parent that I’ll go. My plan, I’ll go by bus from my home town Bukittinggi to Jakarta, and continue by train to Jombang (last rail station) and then continue by angkot (public transport) to Pare. Thanks God I have Parent who always support me.

Now, the day has come, it’s time to go. My Mom gave me 2 packs of rice covered with banana leaves (I don’t know how to say it in English exactly :D) By Lorena bus will be reaching Jakarta in 1,5 days. In the bus, I had 2 friends, they were old men, and I made some conversations with them, one man wanna go to Ngawi his home town and the another one wanna go to Rawamangun, Jakarta, and we talked about many things, and I was so surprised when the first man asked me to be his son in law. HAAAH..?? My brain one’s beat to look for some reason to deny it. I just smile, and said “better if we (me and his daughter) meet first, what if your daughter dislikes me?” thanks God he agreed.

When we crossed  the Sunda Strait, another man brought me to a place in the ship and he started to talk seriously, and then the same case happened again, he also asked me to be his son in law, but this one really serious. He noted my phone number, and he asked me to visit his house and meet with his daughter when we arrive in Jakarta. OMG, what’s wrong with me?  I just said “yeah if I have leisure time I’ll visit him” fyuuuuh…

I stayed in Jakarta for a week before I continued my trip to Pare I attended some job fair in Jakarta, who knows Allah gives me the way there. After applied some position in some companies but there’s no respond then I decided to continued my trip to Pare. I Bought train’s ticket for executive class Rp 255.000 from Senen Rail station to Jombang. The train was very comfort, I could sleep well along way, just got up twice for bought Pop Mie in Semarang Rail Station and for took a pee.

Arrived in Jombang at 5.00 PM, I was quite worry about how to get (to) pare from here? On the way to exit gate I found Mushalla and I take Shubuh pray first and after that I heard a man said “paree.. paree..” and I asked him about bus to Pare, thanks God it’s not as difficult as I thought before. (and note for me, firstly I felt scare about bus broker (in Bahasa said calo) but I realized that now I’m not in Minang any more, because I often feel uncomfortable with bus broker in Minang, some time they looks force us, ggrrrr.
From Jombang to Pare by bus (public transport) around 1 hour, at the time the sun rise was so beautiful, corn field looks gold, so beautiful. I really enjoyed it. Arrived in Pare, Tulung Rejo exactly, the weather was so nice, I came too early morning, so there is no course has opened.
